Day 1 and 2

After our nap we headed out to look apartments. It is taking a real adjustment to realize how small these places are and how much we are paying (in US $). Nothing we loved the 1st day so we hit the pub below our hotel for our first pints. Me with a Guinness and Robin a cider.

Day 2 was more of the same. Apartments got a bit better but nothing we loved. Our 2nd to last one Robin was ready to pull the trigger but I said we should look at this last place. Turns out it was perfect. Great set up and view. Handed the guy a wad of sweaty euros to lock it up.

Looks like we can move in on Friday and start on other more important things like where to eat and drink around the area.

Dublin

Well Robin and I got in at 8 am Dublin time. Here is a picture of Robin with all our luggage looking bright eyed. Our first realization that we are in a different country was when Robin went to get in the cab she opened the driver side door. Our cabbie told us typically when this happens he'll jump in the passenger seat and say "where are we going?" We got to our hotel and apparently it is owned by a pub below. So we paid for our room at the bar and headed upstairs for a nap.

Hello Irene

So our stop over in Boston / Madison CT was uneventful except for the fact that Hurricane Irene hit my Grandma's house on Sunday morning. Never seen anything like it as the water reached the 2nd stoop of her front door (about 6 inches from coming into the house.) I took a few pictures early on but then had to get inside before I went out to sea. My cousin Chris has a great picture of a fridge floating down the road behind our house. We were without power until we left so it was a bit stressful but Logan was open and our Aer Lingus flight took off without a hitch.
By the afternoon these homes had no front lawn

Bye Bye Seattle

So our 4 month stay in Magnolia is over and we are off to the East Coast for a few days before we hit Dublin. Thank you Craigslist for helping us get rid of all of our stuff and Thanks to all you for giving us a proper send off.
